Indoor and outdoor activities abound at Nature Centre’s family festival!

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre invites everyone to celebrate the change of seasons at Spring Nature Fest on Friday March 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The sixth-annual family festival will offer opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of Lethbridge’s river valley.  Spring Nature Fest will feature activities with the Family Centre, Lethbridge College’s Early Childhood Education Program, the Oldman Watershed Council, as well as the City of Lethbridge Waste & Recycling department.

Spring Nature Fest offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including a loose parts playground, geocaching, scavenger hunts, building challenges, and much more!

“Everyone is excited to see the arrival of spring,” says Jessica Deacon-Rogers with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, “Spring Nature Fest provides a great opportunity for families to come together to appreciate the subtle changes on the landscape and celebrate that spring is well underway!”

Spring Nature Fest has something for everyone and provides a great chance to discover all that spring has to offer right in the heart of the city! The free event will take place throughout the afternoon at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. Everyone is encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool with friends to the event.

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is open year-round; hours of operation for March are 1 p.m.– 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays). The current main gallery exhibition features “Sustain-o-topia – Thriving in Our Changing Climate”, highlighting opportunities for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
