Helen Schuler Nature Centre launches an adventure-style environmental challenge.
Hear ye, hear ye! Verdant Quest beseeches thee to partake in noble conservation endeavours!
Lethbridge’s newest environmental challenge calls on community members to complete conservation projects, while earning badges and a chance to win legendary prizes from local businesses. Themed environmental tasks, like litter clean-ups, invasive species removal and storm drain adoptions, will earn participants a digital certificate to celebrate their achievements. Anyone who completes all four challenges will receive a limited-edition sticker and a chance to win one of two grand prizes: a Waterton package or an epic staycation.
Lethbridge boasts one of Canada’s best park systems, including large natural parkland. Citizen stewardship is key to maintaining this thriving natural asset.
“More than 1,000 volunteers participated in Coulee Clean-ups last year,” says Chelsea Sherbut, Resource Development Coordinator at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre (and creator of Verdant Quest). “People in Lethbridge love nature and care a lot for the beautiful green spaces we have. Community participation in conservation efforts is vital for the health of our parks and river valley, and deserves to be celebrated.”
