Natural Leaders Project – In Your Community

Do you want to meet like-minded people, learn about our unique local ecosystems and discover ways to make positive change in our community?

Join this exciting course: This adult program series will include guest speakers, field trips, and discussion around five key sustainability subjects relevant to our community. 

This monthly series includes 5 Sunday afternoon sessions and 1 full-day field study of parks.

Please plan to attend ALL 6 classes, as this course builds on concepts over time.

Most sessions will include indoor and outdoor components, weather permitting.

Dates & Topics:

Session 1: January 19 | 1pm-4pm

  • Living Landscapes (what is this place?)

Session 2: February 9 | 1pm-4pm

  • Renewable Future (climate change in Southern Alberta)

Session 3: March 9 | 1pm-4pm

  • Waste Case (conscious consumption and a tour of the Waste and Recycling Centre)

Session 4: April 13 | 1pm-4pm

  • Water World (watershed 101 and water management in our city, including a storm pond tour)

Session 5: May 4 | 1pm-4pm

  • Ecosystems (adaptations, collaboration and thriving in a community)

Session 6: June 8 | 9am-3pm

  • Full Day Field Study (explore different protected parks in our city!)

Ages 16+ | Cost: $60/person (includes all 6 classes)
